Testimonies from Manafwa, Uganda

In March 2015, Rev Tim Sullivan presented his Ministers' Training Series to a group of rural pastors in the Manafwa District in eastern Uganda. Here are some of their testimonies. They have been edited for clarity and brevity

Nelson Musa Wanyonyia Nelson
I thank the Lord for the arrangements He made to bring this teaching to this place. Speaking for myself, I have learned many things that I am now inspired to go out and teach.  Reverend Tim taught us that before you go out to preach the Gospel, you should make sure you have read it, that you have studied it enough to understand it, and to present it with confidence. This seminar has built me up so that now when I speak to my brethren, I’ll speak with confidence because I have good knowledge of what I’m talking about.

As we read in Jeremiah 4:3, “For thus saith the LORD to the men of Judah and Jerusalem, Break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns.” The part of my garden where I had not previously dug, I’m now sure has been dug and tilled properly. I thank God for all that I have been taught.

I want to thank the Lord for Reverend Tim, and the pastoral team he traveled with. I have learned so much. I thank God for Reverend Tim coming here to teach us under these conditions. From the first day up to this time, we have been fed spiritually and physically, and we have paid nothing. We don’t know how it cost him to put on this seminar, but we pray that whatever it cost, the Lord will repay him. For what he has taught us, I’ve been delivered in many issues, and I know that because of the message I’ve received my church will be blessed. Because I am going to go and talk to them, and I know they will also be built up. I request that Reverend Tim, Reverend Henry and interpreter Yekolams all come back to this place to teach us again. The Lord bless you. As you go back home, greet those you left behind with the blessing of the Lord. Thank you so much.

Nimurodi WalimbwaNimurodi
My names are Walimbwa Nimurodi. I’ve been one of the students in this class in Mwanafa, at St Edwards School. I give thanks to the Lord for Reverend Tim.

Reverend Tim asked for our forgiveness because he did not come in November as he first planned. At that time I was attending a different seminar. When I heard about this class, I asked the Lord, “Of these two seminars, which one should I attend?” God told me to leave the other one and go to Reverend Tim’s class. I left the other seminar, and when Reverend Tim did not show up, I told the Lord, “You told me to leave the other conference and come to this one, and now the Reverend has not showed up. What should I do? I want to be taught.” Then I heard that the Reverend was going to come, and I knew that the Lord had heard my prayer.

Reverend Tim, the Lord has given you the gift of teaching. Your teachings have brought me closer to the fountain of the water of the Lord. I tell you, Reverend Tim has brought us to the big well of water. He has opened the way for us, and the water is flowing towards us. Now it is up to us to unblock the channels that bring in the water. But for me I have gained, and I’ve been built up. God bless you so much.

For whatever you have done, may the Lord repay you because you’ve done his real work. But I’m requesting this: you have begun something like a small nursery school. Please take us forward, don’t leave us along the way. May the Lord bless you.

Esther Nabwile Esther
I was a student in the class in Bubulo, Mwanafa District. I thank God because this is the first time for me to have a certificate from a Bible seminar since I was saved. I thank God for Reverend Tim and his team. We have been hearing that the team was coming to us to teach us about how you as a Christian can know through the Bible how to develop in your ways. I thank God because I have been receiving very many things which I never knew before. I thank God because the things we have learned from the beginning to the end are things we have needed. So may you continue to teach us. You have showed us the love as Jesus Christ loved us. So with these few remarks I thank you. May you continue to come because in godly things,  we cannot grow tired. May God bless you.

Pastor Elijah Mboizi Elijah
I am a pastor in Manafwa District, in Eastern Uganda. I’ve been blessed by the teachings of Reverend Tim. Personally, I call myself a spiritual Timothy. Because according to 2 Timothy 2:2, Paul told Timothy, what you have heard from the witness of many people, go also and teach others. So today I call myself to be Timothy because of what I’ve heard from Reverend Tim. I’m ready and I see in my spirit that I am being stirred up to go also and teach other people.

Reverend Tim, I was blessed with your lessons, most especially, with the lesson called Repentance from Dead Works. I’ve been doing many things with my own understanding, trying to please myself and even sometimes to please my family. But you told us, we need to discover who we are in the Lord who called us.  And even from the first class, the Doctrine of Christ, let me say that for the whole two weeks, I’m blessed because I have discovered who I am in the Lord.

Today you taught that some people go into the ministry for worldly honor. They don’t want to be the servant but they want to be served. For me, I see I have changed and from today onwards, I will do according to what you have taught and I know I will not remain the same. May God bless you and bless those who stand with you. Bless your finances so that you may continue being a blessing to many nations as God called you to be.

Somebody said that you have started something like a nursery school. We need to go from nursery to primary, and from primary to go to secondary.  So we request that if God speaks to you, please, come back to teach us more. We were blessed and we will invite others who were not here. We shall continue praying for you, and that your lessons will come back to this place. May God bless you.

Yekolams Wamanga Yekolams
I thank God for the opportunity to be a part of this Bubulo class in Manafa, Eastern Uganda in Africa. I had not planned to attend this class. But knowing the times and seasons, I’ve been under the burden to teach on the Doctrine of Christ to my church. And just two Sundays after I had begun my lessons, wondering where I was going to get the details, my friend Pastor Henry invited me to this class, and I have been taught exactly what I really needed for this time.

I thank God for Reverend Tim Sullivan and the team of Workers Together With Him. Thank you so much. These lessons are building us. I’m too excited, I’m too happy. I thank God for making it possible for me to attend this conference. My boss at the place I work allowed me this sudden and abrupt opportunity for these two weeks to come and attend, and I am definitely blessed. I pray the Lord bless you, Reverend. Bless Workers Together With Him, and all those that support this. May the hand of the Lord be great upon your life. We thank you in Jesus’ name. Amen.
