Nyanama Report

I want to thank God that enabled us have the Ministers' Training Series at GEM Sanctuary in Nyanama, Kampala in Uganda. When talking and planning with Rev. Tim about these classes it seemed a big mountain for me and it was I wondered how I could have people come and be taught for two weeks. It calls for great determination. But I thank the people who saw value in these trainings and were able to come though I have a number of them that had said they will come and I made preparations for their coming and did not come. I don’t want to say I was disappointed but I can only say things always happen.

We had a good youthful congregation which is my heartbeat knowing that I am investing in the next generation. Amongst many seminars we have had, this was one where the students were always sober and willing to be taught more. Because of this Rev. Tim finished the classes earlier than we had planned.

We started the class a day before Rev. Tim arrived because there was a change in his travels from Tanzania to Uganda. Like I said before, things just happen. This gave me an opportunity to start off the teachings with the Principles of the Doctrines of Christ. I did my best. It was like revising my understanding of this class. It is very hard to teach another man’s material until you have grasped the heart of the owner of the material. I am happy to say I think I knew Tim’s heart in this class and I tried to teach what he would have taught. I saw this the next day when he did the review and he mentioned things that I also mentioned. I also enjoyed the fact that I remember so many stories that I have learnt from Tim and I have used them in many of my preaching.

Tim’s delivery of the message was simple and interesting, even the complex things like the class of the Week of Millenniums became so simple and understandable. This I got it from the testimonies that some of the students were telling me.

One of Tim’s aims of this mission was to pass on these teachings to me as I will be conducting these series in different places where God opens up the door. It is a big task ahead of me so I covet your prayers that I can do a good job and my desire is to be able even to train others to take these teachings further.

I would like to end by thanking every one that made this mission possible through your prayers and giving. I want also to thank in a special Nelly and Tim’s children for allowing him come and bless Africa.
