Five-Day Seminar on the Gifts of the Holy Spirit

Tim in 1977

From 2 to 6 October 2017, Reverend Tim Sullivan will teach a five-day seminar on the Gifts of the Holy Spirit at the Nepal Presbyterian Theological Seminary.

Sunakothi VDC Office, Satdobato-Tikabhairab Rd, Patan 44700, Nepal

This seminar will be explore the topic of "the promise of the Father," sent by Jesus after he ascended into heaven. Students will learn about the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit, and how the Spirit uses these gifts to lead and energize Christians to the end that their work on earth becomes part of the HIS ministry to the church and the world. The Holy Scriptures will be "a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path" to see and understand how the Spirit gives utterance through the gifts of tongues, prophecy and the interpretation of tongues. The three revelation gifts will be examined – the word of knowledge, word of wisdom, and discerning of spirits – to show how the Spirit uses these gifts to lead and instruct God's people. Finally, the gifts of faith, miracles, and healing will be examined to show how the Holy Spirit manifests his life-changing power so that the gospel of Jesus Christ is fully preached with signs following. Each of the nine gifts of the Spirit will be explained simply and scripturally so that all who desire can enter into a Spirit-led ministry founded upon the Rock that is Christ.

It is a sad truth that the church today is often divided into two groups — those who want to walk according to the Scriptures, and those who want to walk by the Spirit. Brothers and sisters, these things should not be! The same God who cries, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge" (Hosea 4:6) says "Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant" (1 Corinthians 12:1).
