ARE YOU WORRIED?

By Jay Pearson

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
John 14:1

Is your heart troubled? Are you uneasy, worried? Are there things that just steal your comfort? Something that at times just consumes your peaceful thoughts. Those things and those somethings are trying to be lord of your life. It is time to remember who we gave the Lordship of our life to, Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. He is the one who saved us and gave us a comforter and said he would not leave us alone.

John 14:16-18
16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

Jesus kept that promise. The Holy Ghost is residing in you when you have made Jesus Lord. One thing the Holy Ghost does is comfort you. Jesus says cast your cares on him and let him care for you.

1 Peter 5:6-7
6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

God wants us to cast our cares on him. Our responsibility is to trust him to work in us to will and to do his purpose in our life.

1 Peter 5:8-11
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
11 To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

We cast our cares on him and we don’t take them back. Trust that he will work it out. Continue in prayer but give your care to Jesus. He will provide the strength for you to let it go.

Proverbs 3:5-6
5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

He is our Lord and we are his sheep. The sheep follow, they don’t lead. The clay does not make the pot. The potter does.

You are purchased by the blood of Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 6:20
For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

We are Christ sheep.

John 10:27-28
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

Our circumstances or troubles are not bigger than God’s ability. God is able. God gave you eternal life. The God of all grace has called you unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus our Lord. Eternity and eternal life do not come with an expiration date. No one or no circumstance can take you out of his hand, not even you. You were a sinner when he called you, you’re a sinner now and you’ll be a sinner when you die. The truth is you will be raised in sinless perfection in and by Christ Jesus. Let that trouble go in your life. Be thankful and praise the Lord for his goodness, mercy, and grace.

1 Peter 2:9-10
9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

You were purchased by his blood, chosen and obtained mercy from the Father and caused to stand. Therefore:

Philippians 4:6-7
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

That peace is Jesus Christ peace.

John 14:27
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

God is able to provide for you. Trust in Him and accept his peace. We have no need to be troubled by our neighbors nor be judgmental of others. Our concern first is our own walk and to trust the Lord.

2 Corinthians 9:8
And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

Romans 14:4
Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.

God is able.

Jude 1:24-25
24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

If your heart is troubled, give it to the Lord. Don’t be afraid, just trust the Lord. God is able.

Ephesians 3:20-21
20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

Things to remember:
What have we reviewed or learned from this:

GOD IS ABLE

TRUST THAT THE LORD IS ABLE TO CARE FOR YOU

HE IS LORD

HE IS LORD OF YOUR SALVATION

HE IS LORD OF YOUR LIFE

HE IS LORD OF YOUR ETERNITY (None of this Lordship has an expiration date)

JUDGE NOT A PERSON, BUT PRAY A LOT FOR A PERSON

THE LORD CALLED YOU, SAVED YOU, AND IS ABLE TO MAKE YOU STAND
