KNOWING WHO YOU ARE
IN CHRIST JESUS
By Jay Pearson
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:10)
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:16)
God sent Jesus into the world not only for our salvation, but also to declare the Father. Jesus sent us into the world to declare him and his righteousness. This is one of your personal ministries.
2 Corinthians 5:20
Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
Jesus gave us an example of being an ambassador. He was God’s ambassador to the chosen and to the world that would have ears to hear.
John 12:49
For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
John 17:26
And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.
John 17:18
As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
You and I have a mission and ministry to fulfill. Ours is to declare Jesus Christ as the way, the truth, and the life and that he is the only way to the Father and eternal life. We do this by word and/or active lifestyle.
John 13:35
By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
John 15:12
This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
Our power and boldness in not in our strength, forwardness, or physical nature. It is in our knowing our Lord and the ability he gave us for our confidence in him. When we trust in and follow Jesus our power and boldness radiates from the Holy Spirit within.
Ephesians 3:12
In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.
Psalm 73:28
But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works.
At times we are confronted with what people think of us or how they perceive us to be like. Other times we a judging ourselves to be less than we should. The truth is we are who Jesus Christ and his Father says we are. It makes no difference who your acquaintances say you are, or religious leaders, or the world in general says you are. We are who Jesus our Lord says we are. We may walk in this boldness, not in self, but in Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 2:10
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
We are his workmanship in Christ Jesus. Think about that. It’s not that the dictionary told you or google told you. The Creator of the heavens and the earth and all that is within them told you. You are his workmanship in Christ Jesus.
1 John 3:2-3
2
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
May we leave here today knowing who we are in Christ Jesus and walk in the boldness and confidence of that truth. Not taking our own path, but trusting in the Lord’s direction and following his path. May we go where he sends us and may we do what he calls us to do knowing he has made us able.
Proverbs 3:5
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart.
Psalm 118:8
It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.
Lean not to your own understanding.
2 Corinthians 10:4-5
4
(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
Imaginations or reasoning contrary to God’s word will draw you down the road of your own understanding. These are scenario’s or mind videos and are detrimental. Left to run wild they can produce the same physical results as reality. You are left with hurt, frustration, and pain from a circumstance that may never materialize. Know who you are in Christ Jesus. Refuse to acknowledge false imaginations and scenarios.
Proverbs 14:26
In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.
Hebrews 3:14
For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;
Knowing who you are in Christ Jesus is knowing who He says you are in His Holy Word.
Ephesians 2:10
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
We are who God and his son Jesus Christ says we are.
1 John 2:28
And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.
