"WHY I TRUST GOD"
By Jay Pearson
I believe that my testimony of Why I Trust God will be an encouragement for you to reach out and trust God more fully in your own personal struggles. I pray this day for the Holy Spirit to inspire you to trust the Lord for his deliverances you seek for your family, friends, acquaintances, and for you.
Here is my testimony.
The main reason I trust God: God has proven his faithfulness to me again and again and again.
One of the Wordbook dictionary’s definition of trust is: A certainty based on experience.
That says it for me too. Trust and faith are not the same but closely linked. My understanding of the difference is this: I have faith in God because Christ gave me the ability to believe his promises in the Spirit. I trust God because he has already delivered a promise to me. I have experienced his promises therefore I trust he will continue to deliver. I trust in his ability and willingness. Once faith is given and I act on that faith and see the result, then I trust in him. Faith is given by the author of faith, Jesus Christ. My trust In God is built by the performance of God in my life. To trust in God I only have to recall my day of salvation. I can’t even find the words to express my explosive joy. I Trust in God because he has proven himself to me again and again and again.
These verses help me when I wavier in trust. I encourage you to memorize a few verses that speak to you personally to carry with you.
Nahum 1:7
The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.
Psalm 56:3
What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.
Psalm 56:11
In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.
I trust in God, for my deliverance because he is faithful and merciful and delivered me before and his son is my Lord.
Psalm 118:8-9
It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.
9 It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes.
We can’t trust in our self or people of power. Both see differently than God and are self-satisfying and way below the power of God.
Proverbs 21:2
Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts.
I say again this is my personal testimony.
God has met the challenges in my life when they seem impossible to me and I ached for deliverance and could do nothing of my own power.
Proverbs 3:5
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
To trust God I only have to look at the experiences I have had with God. He has never failed to do the best for me. It doesn’t always appear that way at first, but through time and revelation it becomes clear. As I said before my biggest realization of trusting God is the day of my salvation, how sweet, how eternal.
Isaiah 26:4
Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:
2 Samuel 22:31
As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.
AMEN
And this is WHY I TRUST GOD. When my heart cries, “Only you God can do this. Only you Lord. Only you.”
He has delivered me again and again and again. I cry now for my family and for you and for me that we my trust God with all our hearts, souls, minds, and strengths to deliver us into his trust more fully and keep us in his will and glory again and again and again. Thank you Lord, and thank you all for listening to WHY I TRUST GOD.
